Bad Habit #1: Manhandling your Wet Hair

Hair is at its weakest and most fragile when it is wet, so some of the worst things you can do right out of the shower is to roughly towel dry your hair, brush your wet hair, and wrap your wet hair up in a towel.

What to do instead. Try using a wide-tooth comb while conditioning your strands and gently pressing or blotting to remove the extra moisture. An extra plus to patting, opposed to rubbing with a towel, as it reduces frizz, knots and tangles.

Bad Habit #2: Not Cleaning your Hairbrush

You have a regular routine of washing your hair, but when was the last time you washed your hair brush?

Hair brushes are breeding grounds for bacteria. Yikes!

What to do instead. A good practice is to use a toothbrush to scrub and deep clean your hairbrush with a mixture of baking soda and lukewarm water every single month to prevent a layer of hair, product buildup, and bacteria and all that other gunk.

If you aren’t ready for an intense run, you can always walk briskly up the flight of stairs and try 10 jumping jacks at the top of the stairs. Make sure to stretch and don’t overextend yourself.
